With the ice fishing season just around the corner figured we could get a bit of info out about the ice conditions in your area. I know here on the avalon I noticed alot of the bigger ponds have no ice, and i would think that the ice on the smaller ponds is very thin. With the way the weather is going it very important to check is thickness every time you go on the pond !!
Ice conditions here on the west coast are "iffy" some places back in the country are ok. I've checked 3 popular ice fishing spot this week and al 3 ponds have 6-8" of ice

any buddy have any updates on conditions in your area ?
We were on 1000 acre marsh on Feb 12 and the ponds appeard to be frozen but when we crossed it was very slushy, and broke through on the edges.
I was out April 1st and drilled a few holes of witless bay line, there was about 16'' of ice, still lots but keep in mind that there is alot of rain and warm weather on the way.
