Not 100% sure but I dont think any restricted arm can be used for hunting purposes.

your right fred you are not allowed to use restricted firearms for hunting in canada any rifle that has a barrel lentgh less than 470mm that is not prohibited and any firearm that can fire after being reduced by telescoping or folding to a lentgh less than 660mm is classifed as a restricted firearm
