hey guys just wondering if there is any rainbow trout on the avalon or near the avalon , and what approaches i should take to catching them ?
Albert read "Rivers of dreams" Donald Hustins book which compiles old fishing information on the inland waters of Newfoundland. It includes the recorded catch rates ,fish size, and also the fishing habits of locals that brings us to our current day practices and the fish we have left... no need of my side of that thread if you read the Book so i deleted it.
Hoping to get out the weekend in the Mahers / Ocean Pond area, never been troutin out in that area before though, anyone have any luck at any of the ponds out there this year? What are some of the better ponds to go to?
Not me John, I don't have a clue about salmon fishing, but this guy was wicked. Everyone that had tags on Saturday had 2 salmon. It was nuts, the salmon were jumping at everything.
I have heard people saying, salmon are hard to rise. This place must be the exception to the rule. I'll have tags for next year.
