Does anybody have any info on ice thickness/safety as of opening day, Today, Feb. 01/19? I have called Paddy's Pond Forestry - No info. Called Red Cross - can't get to speak to anyone. Can't contact Rovers SAR either. Any info or who to call would be great.
Cheers,
Bob

No you can carry your 223 with a valid coyote licence.
(Most people just assume if you have a coyote rifle on a moose hunting trip, if you see a moose you will take a shot at it.)
This is not true for most hunters.
In no way am I saying you are doing this. This is just an assumption by some Wildlife Officers. You have every legal right to carry your firearm, and lots of people do shoot coyotes while in moose hunting.
Good luck with the moose and specially the coyotes, bag as many as you can.
