For those Hunters who would like hunt for Caribou on the Island portion of Newfoundland and Labrador, Iam upset with the Licence shareing. For instance; are 61 has a quota of 70 Lic. 39 of those go to Non Residents, Are 62, Quota 90, 49 Lic. allocated to Non Residents, area 64, 140 Lic Quota 61 Lic. to Non residents. The list goes on. Why do the Local hunter have to be the ones looseing out. Yes the overall picture is that the locals are getting more lic. than Non Residents, however I think the locals should be getting more, the numbers should be much lower for Non resident. The Non Resident is eligble for 36 % of the quota. This should be around 20%. This reminds me of the Cod Fishery.
The other point I want to make is that a Non resident can take Two(2) Moose on his or her hunting excursion on the Island . WHY, was this put in place to offset the loss of Caribou Lic issued to Outfitters. I guess money does talk. My rant for the day.

Oh ya I feel your pain. There is no reason why non residents hunters be allowed to take two moose. I can't and I live here. It's bad enough that the population is declining.
I couldn't agree more, Wilfred.
