I was talking to a good friend of mine the other day. He was telling me, appearently moose are being killed and left to rotten in around the Goulds. I don't know for sure if this is happening, as of now it is hear say. Has anyone else heard anything of this nature, from anywhere else on the island? If this is true, it is very very sad and needs to be stopped and reported immediately.

I am sure we have all heard of things that have been said in here. I've been hunting for over 20 plus years and in all of this time I have come across a dead moose in the woods. Not sure what we can do to stop it, but if we don't try to do so it will still go on. I believe it a mind set of those who do so.
I have heard of a farmer that goes out at night with a spot light and shot gun, gut shoots moose so they run off and die. That way he doesn't have to deal with dead moose.
Too LAZY to get off their ass some of them...
& that is just what people/hunters find just imagine what don't be found, I have been in with people that have fired at a moose & just because they don't see a obvious reaction to a hit they stand there complaining & reluctant to search for sign of a hit, or run after the moose without giving it adequate time to "go lay down" it is those very hunters that deplete the moose pop. just as much or more than poachers,
It's something that was mentioned to me by a friend. I wouldn't dare bring in his name. I don't know if it is true. As of now there is no proof but I was wondering if anyone else has heard of such a thing
That is important information to leave out . Can you find out when they were found and to approx what extent they had rotted or maybe bring Wildlife officers to the scene to try to gather additional information. I think that might be a start to finding an explanation , and possibly putting a stop to it.

That don't explain 3 dead animals next to each other.
I shot a young bull last fall Peter . It was lying down on the edge of a small marsh as I came upon it . He raised his head but didn't seem to have enough energy to get up . It wasn't hard to see he was injured so I quickly fired a fatal shot. I discovered that he had a very serious injury to his left rear leg . I have a problem with my sense of smell , in fact I have none. So I called my son and we punched and quartered him and I took him home. My son told me there was a bad smell off of him and my wife said we're not going to eat him he's gone rotten. I then took him to Wildlife at Paddys Pond and they told me it wasn't fit to eat and issued a new licence . There are a number of different scenarios that could explain how this could have happened but it was obviously a very poorly placed shot. Then it could be someone who didn't sight in their rifle before firing it or shooting from too far away and since that moose did not fall in his tracks and ran into the woods they just turned and walked away . There are too many who don't give a good g d what happens after they pull the trigger. In any case it was very disturbing to me . It would be great if your friend could check this out and try to get some more information on the matter . Just maybe it could lead to charges being laid.

Turned my stomach when I heard it. I hope it is not true.
If it is true Peter, those responsible should be charged to the full extent of the law....makes it bad for honest hunters trying to fill their tags...!
