Just saw this , and as I said somewhere else on site that the RCMP are not out just to get anyone , they should be treated with respect , and if anyone is directed to stop " DO SO " . I have had many chats with these officers , all of which were pleasant.

I would like to bring up a matter on this subject that I think is long overdue . The only videos we have on ATVs are promotional and extreme with  professional riders, riding like crazy people, and jumping over things and doing wheelies, doughnuts , and other things that could be dangerous to the the health and safety of those who are not familiar with them, and often to those who are , and possibly bystanders or others who may be using the same trails. This is not  the way to introduce young people to ATVs. If there is a genuine concern for the health and safety of those who ride these machines , and others who use the same trails , then let the Provincial and FED.Governments put their money, or should I say "OUR MONEY " where their mouths are.

Why are there no videos funded by Government , Fed and or Prov. showing our young people and " adults" how to use these machines properly , responsibly and safely ? FREE.

There is a video that tells all users what they cannot do, I think it's time to add something positive to the "ATV ADVERTIZING CAMPAIGN. I'm sure there are many " RCMP OFFICERS " , who would love to get involved in videos and workshops , where young and old alike could go to get proper training , as part of their paid duties, and again this should be FREE.

There's that word again " FREE", but is it really free ? . What do the figures say. In 2010, there were over sixty thousand {60,000 } REGISTERED QUADS on the Island of Newfoundland alone . The registration fees alone would add up to a tidy sum in the Provincial Treasury mine cost me $50.00 times 60.000 =$3,000,000 .Added to that is the Prov sales tax on all those machines when they were purchased . Right now they range from 7 to $15,000 + and $1000 to $2000 in Prov. sales tax each. It would be virtually impossible to calculate the real value of the taxes on those machines since some of them are older and therefore less expensive than they are now .   However, the taxes on spinoff from parts , oil ,gas , and repairs to those machines , every nickle that we spend on them is income to someone else including those employed in their sales, repairs, and manufacturing both machines and parts to keep them running , oh! did I mention """ TIRES""" and their manufactures so on and on it goes, and therefore "IT IS ALL TAXABLE ", but "To my knowledge ", not one cent of this vast revenue source went toward anything positive for ATV users , in fact , Atv. users are treated as if they were some terrible virus and a real threat to the whole population , " JUST ASK WOODY " he'll tell you.

To all concerned this is the 21st. century and "DISCRIMINATION " , which they do not deserve ,aimed at a group of people that represents 10% of the total population of this province ,  and makes a considerable contribution to the economy of the province and the country , as a whole, Is a matter that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
