Craig I think there are more licences than moose in area 33. I hiked from end of tower road over to fox marsh road area then back to slimy gullies area brigus junction then over to mcgraths pond area and back to tower road today covered close to 15 km and saw no moose and very little sign. there may be pockets of moose in some areas but the moose population is way down in this area. I spend a lot of time in this area trout fishing by canoe in June and duck hunting in late September the moose are just not there. This area had lowest success rate on the island last year and I bet it will be less than 40 % this season. It seems the provincial government is intent on wiping out the moose on the Avalon and from what I have seen in my travels they are doing a good job. Managed to pick up a few ducks along the way so not a bad day. Good luck to you.
