I'm here in Grand Falls-Windsor and mainly waterfowl hunt on the Exploits River. Golden Eye, Ring Necks, Mergansers and blacks (some mallards) are the main ducks in this area. There are a few geese on the go in central but I found a really great area for geese on the west coast. We counted over 80 our last trip there.
My Name is Ed Smith, I live in CBS. I have hunted Ducks & Geese for a few years now. I am a half decent caller (better caller than shooter, LoL). Main species I hunt over here are Blacks, Mallards, Green-winged Teal, Blue-winged Teal, Ring-necks, and a scattered pintail. If we are lucky the odd tufted duck and lesser scaups. I created this network to get waterfowlers from Newfoundland together and to share knowledge with one another, and maybe set up a few group hunts in the future. I hope you make this Network your second "home" away from the Blind, LOL. Cheers, ED
I am Glad you are enjoying the site. Look Forward to possibly hunting with you this fall. anything you have questions about feel free to post them, if we can't answer them ourselves we'll guide you to someone who can! Cheers, ed
My name is Mark Clifford. I do not live in Newfoundland nor have I ever been there before. It is in my plans to get to Newfoundland one of these days and see it. I live in Ontario and work for Delta Waterfowl out of Winnipeg, MB. I found this form as I came across it on youtube while checking out some videos. I joined this forum as I love talking to waterfowl hunters from coast to coast of this great nation and learning the different ways that folks hunt. If anyone has any questions about Delta Waterfowl or hunting in Ontario please do not hesitate to drop me a line.
My name is Kerry Shears and I am a waterfowl, big game, small game and furbearer harvester, as well as a taxidermist. It's great to be part of this social network. If you have any taxidermy questions I'll be happy to try and answer them.
Hi
My name is Fred Woodman. I live in New Harbour, here in the bottom of Trinity Bay. Waterfowl hunting and dog training is my passion.
I enjoy waterfowling wherever I can. In province and out.
My favorite is hunting Goldeneyes.
Nothing compares to hearing the whisling of their wings and the way the drop into the decoys.
I also thoroughly enjoy watching the dogs work.
Thanks Fred for the kind words. I have to agree with you Waterfowl hunting is my Passion as well. Nothing get the heart pounding more than when a flock of birds comes in with their landing gear down, getting ready to pitch into your decoys! Thanks for being a member! ED
Great Site guys! Very informative. Just recently moved back to Corner Brook/Pasadena from a 9 year stint in Ontario Hope to get some new tips and hints for the upcoming season. Waterfowl hunting back on the island is much more different from hunting big honkers on the corn fields of Southern Ontario. Glad to be back home and hunting on the island again.
