I was wondering if you could post an employment opportunity for big game guides on your site for me.



Red Indian Lake Outfitting and Tours own and operates 2 lodges in the interior of NL. We hunt areas 12 and 13 for moose and areas 62 and 66 for woodland caribou. We require Big game guides for this fall. We supply 8 x 8 Argos there is no lugging meat. We have first class lodges and accommodations. The rate of pay is $900.00 a week and no charge for logging. Lyme-infected ticks identified on island

Ticks carrying Lyme disease are on the move on the island of Newfoundland, lab tests have confirmed.

Dr. Hugh Whitney, Newfoundland and Labrador's chief veterinary officer, said 19 deer ticks have been discovered so far this summer.

Four of them tested positive for Lyme disease, which can cause rashes, fevers and muscle pain in humans.

DFO advises anglers that due to extremely low water levels and extremely high water temperatures, the following rivers will close effective Wednesday July 16, 2014. Rivers will reopen as conditions improve.

Moose-eating shark rescued in Newfoundland harbour

Greenland shark either bit off more that it could chew or was just enjoying a big meal

Two quick-thinking men on Newfoundland's northeast coast managed to save a Greenland shark from choking to death on a large piece of moose hide this past weekend.

Derrick Chaulk said he was driving down a road by the harbour in Norris Arm North this past Saturday when he saw what he thought was a beached whale.

Salmonier Nature Park Closed for Second Day

The Salmonier Nature Park is still closed as park officials and wildlife officers try to capture an escaped animal. A lynx got away from an enclosure at the park yesterday, prompting an all-day search. That search is continuing today, and park officials will keep the park closed until further notice.
