The Department of Natural Resources has issued a public advisory after several reports of coyote sightings on the Powers Pond walking trail in Mount Pearl yesterday.
Conservation officers are monitoring the situation. They say anyone encountering a coyote should never approach or crowd the animal, instead be aggressive, make noise and wave your arms while giving it an escape route. Maintain eye contact and do not run away.

I was talking to a good friend of mine the other day. He was telling me, appearently moose are being killed and left to rotten in around the Goulds. I don't know for sure if this is happening, as of now it is hear say. Has anyone else heard anything of this nature, from anywhere else on the island? If this is true, it is very very sad and needs to be stopped and reported immediately.
